Captain America Subcasts / Upper Deck (11)
This was a great piece to work on... I always knew the Cap was a smug dude! About 9" tall, but just as wide so it was pretty huge. Shown but not released... Designed by Tweeqim (aka Miq Wilmott). -
Arthropoda Chilopoda (Centipede) (2)
This was just a hobby project, for a contest at Kotaku.com (winner). It's actually articulated at every leg and segment, and almost 2 feet long! I still need to give it a proper painting, it's just cast in green resin, which as you can see, isn't 100% matching between the parts. -
California Extreme Arcade Tournament Trophy (6)
This was a volunteer commission for the CAX arcade show in San Jose, CA. The games include pinball and arcade, so I created this composition that covers both. These were then finished in metallics and attached to proper trophy bases. -
Dig Dug's Funeral / One of a Kind (4)
As if you couldn't tell from other parts of this site, I am a classic game nut. This was a labor of love... created for the I Am 8-Bit show at Gallery 1988, Spring 2006. It's a hanging wall diorama about 18" tall, the figures are all 2-3". My idea was that you always see game characters die a million times, maybe someone should give one of them a funeral! Since Dig-Dug spends most of his time underground, he was the perfect subject, he's already halfway there! In attendance are Ms. Pac-Man, Q*Bert, Pooka, Galaga Bee, Defender Lander, Burgertime Hot Dog, and Ghosts N Goblins Zombie, with DK Mario as undertaker and Fygar as the minister. There is a centipede hiding somewhere in there too. I received a lot of attention from this show, it was a wonderful thing to be a part of. -
Ashley Wood's Popbot / Sideshow Collectibles (9)
A 15" sculpt of Ashley Wood's lumbering Popbot (and Kitty). I dig his mechanical guts hanging out, gives him a funky rickety look. Big fun sculpting this one, robots I love. -
Ashley Wood's Lady Sham / SIdeshow Collectibles (6)
12" sculpt of the sexy "Super-Agent Bitch", aka Lady Sham. Extremely limited edition! Again I tried to capture the unique stylization of Ash's art. -
Popfuzz / Popfuzz.com (6)
I love this little guy! He stands about 8" tall. Popfuzz is a place that buys and sells hard to find records, and also has a great gallery of underground toy art. The proprietor, Sean Powers, is also an accomplished artist, who created this mascot and a slew of other robot characters. -
Master of the Flying Guillotine: Fung Sei Wu Chi (7)
This piece was taken from one of the most seminal Kung Fu films of the 70's. You could argue that much of what ended up in fighting games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter came from this film. Fun Sei Wu Chi is a blind assassin who decapitates his victims by throwing this bladed basket thing over their heads. Incidentally, the symbol on his chest is a Buddhist Power Wheel (sometimes called a Manji), which is several centuries old. It is NOT that other thing you might be thinking. -
Darkness Snowglobe / Moore Creations (8)
A large-scale snow globe. Only the architecture you see here made it into the final product, the figures were not used. -
Dream Halloween: Devil's Convertible / Mattel Inc (5)
Figure that sat in the scale convertible for the annual Halloween charity auction at Mattel. -
Symbulz Angel (5)
A little cherub in a dress sitting on a lily pad with a lotus flower. A tarot card was meant to go in her hand. -
Bulldog (5)
A pumped-up bulldog for a giftware line. -
Super Vet (8)
A heroic veterinarian for a giftware line (male and female versions). -
Frank Kelly Freas' Earth Call / Avatar Creations (4)
A very early piece of mine for Streamline. This was taken from a book illustration by F.K. Freas. The figure is about 5" tall.
