Dig Dug's Funeral
One-of-a-Kind Gallery Piece

As if you couldn't tell from other parts of this site, I am a classic game nut. This was a labor of love... created for the I Am 8-Bit show at Gallery 1988, Spring 2006. It's a hanging wall diorama about 18" tall, the figures are all 2-3". My idea was that you always see game characters die a million times, maybe someone should give one of them a funeral! Since Dig-Dug spends most of his time underground, he was the perfect subject, he's already halfway there! In attendance are Ms. Pac-Man, Q*Bert, Pooka, Galaga Bee, Defender Lander, Burgertime Hot Dog, and Ghosts N Goblins Zombie, with DK Mario as undertaker and Fygar as the minister. There is a centipede hiding somewhere in there too. I received a lot of attention from this show, it was a wonderful thing to be a part of.

PopFuzz

PopFuzz.Com
(contracted)

I love this little guy! He stands about 8" tall. Popfuzz is a place that buys and sells hard to find records, and also has a great gallery of underground toy art. The proprietor, Sean Powers, is also an accomplished artist, who created this mascott and a slew of other robot characters.

Ashley Wood's Lady Sham Sideshow Collectibles
(Contracted)
12" sculpt of the sexy "Super-Agent Bitch", aka Lady Sham. Extremely limited edition! Again I tried to capture the unique stylization of Ash's art.

Ashley Wood's Popbot and Kitty
Sideshow Collectibles
(Contracted)
A 15" sculpt of the lumbering Popbot by famed illustrator Ashley Wood. I dig his mechanical guts hanging out, gives him a funky rickety look. Big fun sculpting this one, robots I love.

Master of the Flying Guillotine: Fung Sei Wu Chi
Private Commission

This piece was taken from one of the most seminal Kung Fu films of the 70's. You could argue that much of what ended up in fighting games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter came from this film. Fun Sei Wu Chi is a blind assassin who decapitates his victims by throwing this bladed basket thing over their heads.

Incidentally, the symbol on his chest is a Buddhist Power Wheel (sometimes called a Manji), which is several centuries old. It is NOT that other thing you might be thinking.

Mr. Moore was a pleasure to work with. Only the architecture you see here made it into the final product, my figurines were not used.

female study
student work
A rather large, 2/3 life-size female study from my college days, sculpted in homemade plasticene which they used to make at the university. Probably my first decent attempt at a female figure.

Frank Kelly Freas' Earth Call
Streamline Modelworks
(contracted)
A very early piece of mine for Streamline, my 3rd piece. This was taken from a book illustration by F.K. Freas. Figure is about 5" tall, it was the first time I'd done a human that small. His left hand needs fixing.
