Full-size Props and Film Work

Here's some of my few ventures into film-type stuff. Film work is pretty neat, it's a lot different from toys and other products.
I would like to do more when possible.

Drive
(dir. Steve Wang):
Motel Miniature
Crystal Clear Prod.
I did all the detail modeling on this 1/6 scale miniature... the doorknobs, light fixtures, and lots of other little stuff. Also some of the painting and weathering. It was a blast to watch it... well, get blasted. Read about the movie here

Heavy Metal: Fakk 2 Pistol
Heavy Metal Magazine (subcontracted)
A huge pistol that only a kickazz psycho amazon like Julie Strain could wield... she did the convention circuit that year lugging this thing around to promote the Heavy Metal 2000 animated film (formerly Heavy Metal: Fakk 2)

Heavy Metal: Fakk-2 Rifle
Heavy Metal Magazine
(subcontracted)
A crazy-huge triple barreled alien rifle prop also for Julie. She and Kevin Eastman are great folks to work with, would love to do so again sometime.

Feda 2: Communicator
Crystal Clear Prod.

This was a holographic communicator used in a live-action short made as the opening cinema of a Playstation game, called Feda 2: the White Surge Platoon. The game was released in Japan only. Actually a very ambitious movie considering what it was intended for.

Feda 2: Targeter Eyepiece
Crystal Clear Prod.
A retractable eyepiece for Feda 2 (worn by the dashing Wyatt Weed of Crystal Clear Productions!)

Feda 2: Bazooka
Crystal Clear Prod.
A bazooka also for Feda 2. It was made with metal guts so that it could withstand pyro, although I think they ended up digitally posting all the fireworks. That guy holding it is Steve Ortiz, prez of Avatar Creations (a very cool boss!)

Vampire Princess Miyu: Larva's Mask
Personal Work
I always liked the Larva character from VP Miyu , rather mysterious and melancholy. This was more based on his cel-animated look with the sharp nose. I would like to try him again someday with a more organic look, like the illustrations. This mask is wearable, although you can't see through it. The eye is glass, and can be backlit.

YuGiOh! Millennium Puzzle
Personal Work
I was inspired by the YuGiOh manga to create a replica of his Millennium Puzzle necklace. I think it would be pretty tough to actually wear this thing, you would probably be in pain by day's end ^_^
